Ella Mae Chance

STATESBORO-, Missionary Ella Mae Chance was born into time on April 27, 1926 to the parentage of the late Walter and Ella Burden Mincey in Bulloch County, GA.
As a young girl, she accepted Christ as her personal Savior and vowed, that she would serve him faithfully and lovingly, for all the days of her life.
Missionary Chance was a graduate of Statesboro Industrial School, and later further her education and attended cosmetology school in Savannah, GA.
She was a member of Greater Bethel A.M.E Church in Statesboro, GA, where she served as a Missionary, Church Trustee, Sung in Choir and served on the Stewardess Board. A woman of God who did not believe in laziness, she worked untiringly and faithfully in the ministry in order to implement the vision given to her. She made every effort to share all of her love and grace with many she interacted with. She was always willing to lend a helping hand or give encouraging words of advice.
She was joined in holy matrimony to Watson Chance, Sr. to this union three children were born.
In 1959 she moved to Plainville, NJ where she was employed at Lyons Veterans Hospital in Lyons, NJ as a Medical Assistant. In 1977 she relocated back home and was employed with Georgia Grace Nursing Home and Pecan Manor Nursing Home.
In her 88th season of life at the Ogeechee Area Hospice, she passed from time into eternity early Tuesday morning, April 29th, 2014. She was preceded in her passing by her parents; a sister, Grace Simmons; and a brother, Bill Mincey.
Although she was occupied with work and the ministry, she remained a devoted mother to her children and grandchildren. Friends and family knew that her children were the delight of her life.
A woman of great beauty, poise, elegance and grace, her radiant smile shined like a beacon of light in the darkness and she brought joy into the lives of all she touched.
In her 88th season of life at the Ogeechee Area Hospice, she passed from time into eternity early Tuesday morning, April 29th, 2014. She was preceded in her passing by her parents.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories and await her glorious resurrection: her daughters, Angela Chance of Lawerenceville, GA, Grace Fuller of Statesboro, Georgia; her son, Watson Chance, Jr. of Statesboro; two grandsons, Kareem Fuller and Jamil Fuller both of Statesboro, GA. She also leaves a caravan of nieces, nephews, other relatives, her Greather Bethel A.M.E Church family and friends.
Public visitation for Missionary Ella Mae Chance will be held at the funeral home on Friday May 2, 2014 from 12:00 noon until 7:00 P.M. Family will receive friends from 7:00-8:00 P.M. 
A Final Farewell Service to celebrate her life will be shared with friends on Saturday May 3, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at Greater Bethel A.M.E Church, 3 Peachtree Street, Statesboro, GA 30458. Reverend DeBorah Lanier will serve as the celebrant. Interment will follow in the Scarboro Grove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Portal, GA.
